This photo is the last photo I took of my Grandfather before he passed away. He had retired on the family homestead farm. When I visited, he always would look out at the land and declare “It was a good day to be alive!”.. This is my tribute to him.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Deb Menz - “Wandering and Pondering”
2025 has found me past chaos and ready to create again. I found that I am not the same as I was 6 years ago and my work reflects that. I continue to love color and color interactions and now feel freer to work with color in the abstract and now explore art quilting as part of my color series.
I still love the 1/4” squares, but they have grown and become less disciplined and are a little wild now. I have added another shape to my images I use often - introducing the Circle. It means so many things - cycles, no sharp edges , no beginning and no end and it moves easily and seems so happy to me.
That is where I am - wandering and pondering with no end in sight….
